- Place the sample (slide) to be examined delicately on the stage, cover slip
towards the objective lens. Delicately pinch the sample (slide) using the slide
holder.
- The 360° pivoting observation head and the 45° inclined tube provide an
excellent ergonomy and allow prolonged use.
- A light condenser is found under the stage. The intensity of the incident light
may be modified when the diaphragm aperture is adjusted.
Note: The diaphragm aperture is not designed to adjust the luminosity;
the luminosity is adjusted using the luminosity adjustment knob.
Turn the objective holder to change the 4× or 10× objective, and make sure
(by hearing a "click") the objective is in the light path.
To prevent the objective from touching the sample when adjusting the focus,
turn the coarse focus knob until the sample is at approximately 3 mm from the
objective. Slowly turn the coarse focus adjustment knob until a clear image is
obtained; then use the fine focus knob to make the sample image as clear as
possible.

4 Maintenance

- Dust protection: cover the apparatus with its cover after use. If dust deposits
itself on the lenses, blow using a syringe or a dust remover (Ref. 574 198) or
use a sable hair brush: the lenses are fragile and may be scratched by dust.
- Fingerprints: do not touch the lenses. However, if they have fingerprints,
remove them with a soft cloth or an optical cleaning paper (Ref. 803 092).
- Humidity: humidity, especially combined with temperature, is particularly
harmful for mounted optics. Microscopes should be stored in a dry place,
and in particularly exposed climates, in their polystyrene boxes with a
dessicator bag.
- Dismounting: a microscope is a precision apparatus with delicate machining.
If the dismounting is necessary (maintenance), return the instrument to the
company JEULIN. The lower plate that closes it should only be opened by
an electrician as the case must remain protected at the electrical safety
level. Only dismount when the microscope is disconnected.
The shelf life of the LED is of 10,000 hours, in case of non-function of the
lighting and after verifying that the batteries are charged, send the microscope
back to Jeulin.
