4. Microscope Supply
The ME microscope with stand-alone LED can be powered in two ways
4.1. Supply by Separated Transformer
A separated transformer is delivered in standard with your microscope. Plug the
transformer to the mains 220 V and connect the jack plug to the rear of the microscope. If
the rechargeable batteries are mounted in their casing in the base, they will automatically
charge if needed.
Specifications of the separated transformer: 4.6 V / 500 mA
4.2. Power by Rechargeable Batteries
3 rechargeable batteries are delivered in standard with your microscope.
For the first use, make sure that they are correctly installed in their casing on the base.
Connect the separated transformer to the mains 220 V and connect the jack plug to the
rear of the microscope. Make sure the light intensity is sufficient for your observations. If
that is the case, we suggest you disconnect the separated transformer during your
observations in order not to distort the batteries. Otherwise, charge the batteries using a
battery charger compatible with rechargeable batteries type AA (not supplied).
After making your choice, your microscope is ready. Learn more about the mechanics by
slowly handling each element to see its effect and how it behaves. Rotate the light intensity
control placed on the base to the desired power. Adjust the brightness by finding the best
position for the condenser, and then close the diaphragm so as to increase the contrast
and the depth of field, but not excessively in order not to distort the resolution.

5. Maintenance

Protection from dust: after use, cover the device (cover supplied with the microscope). If
dust is deposited on the lenses, blow using a syringe or a dust collector or use a marter
hair brush: lenses are fragile and can be scratched by dust.
We recommend :
the dust collector ref. 574 198,
the special optical cleaner ref. 102 146
or the cleaning kit for microscopes ref. 574 066.
Fingerprints: do not touch the lenses. If, however, they bear prints, remove them using a
soft cloth or an optical cleaning paper.
