3. Target Group, Personnel
Responsibility for planning, assembly, commissioning, operation,
maintenance, and dismounting lies with the plant operator.
The personnel must be appropriately trained and qualified in order to carry
out mounting, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and
DOCT-7047D / 2022-06
dismounting of the device. The trained and qualified personnel must have
read and understood the instruction manual.
4. Reference to Further Documentation
Observe laws, standards, and directives applicable to the intended use
and the operating location. Observe Directive 1999/92/EC in relation to
hazardous areas.
The corresponding datasheets, manuals, declarations of conformity, EU-
type examination certificates, certificates, and control drawings if
applicable (see datasheet) are an integral part of this document. You can
find this information under www.pepperl-fuchs.com.

5. Intended Use
The device is only approved for appropriate and intended use. Ignoring
these instructions will void any warranty and absolve the manufacturer
from any liability.
VisuNet FLX panels consist of a display unit with touch screen in
combination with a computing unit. Various display sizes (21.5 inch,
19 inch and 15.6 inch) and configurable computer units lead to highest
application flexibility. The VisuNet FLX panels are designed for Zone 2/22
and non-Ex applications.
Use the device only within the specified ambient temperature range.
The device must only be operated in the specified ambient temperature
range and at the specified relative humidity without condensation.
Use the device only within the specified ambient and operating conditions.
Take the intended use of the connected devices from the corresponding
documentation.
The device is an electrical apparatus for hazardous areas.
The device is not suitable for separating hazardous areas.
Ex components are not intended to be used alone. Mounting and usage of
Ex components in devices or systems must be certified separately.
Ex components have the U marking at the end of the certificate number.
Devices for which specific conditions of use apply have the X marking at
the end of the certificate number.
Only use the device stationary.
6. Improper Use
Protection of the personnel and the plant is not ensured if the device is not
used according to its intended use.
The device is not suitable to separate intrinsically safe circuits from non-
intrinsically safe circuits.
The device is not suitable for separating hazardous areas.
7. Specific Conditions of Use
Ensure that the device provides and maintains a degree of protection
of at least IP64 according to IEC/EN 60079-0.
The device must be installed and operated only in a controlled
environment that ensures a pollution degree 2 (or better) according to
IEC/EN 60664-1.
Only connect safety extra-low voltage circuits (SELV) or protective extra-
low voltage circuits (PELV) to the device.
The device must be installed and operated only in an environment of
overvoltage category II (or better) according to IEC/EN 60664-1.
Only connect supplies that provide protection against electric shock (e. g.
SELV or PELV).
Use the device only within the specified ambient and operating conditions.
Install the device in locations with a low risk of mechanical hazard
according to IEC/EN 60079-0 only.
Avoid mechanical impacts to the device (e. g. from heavy or sharp-
edged objects).
