Prepare for Installation
Please read this guide before you install disks into your ReadyNAS system. Prepare the
following for the disk installation:
ReadyNAS X6 Disk-less System
Disk drive brackets and screw in accessory box
Hard disk drives (not included)
Screw driver (not included)
ReadyNAS X6 allows you to start with one disk and add a second disk at a later time for
redundancy. You can then expand the data volume by adding a third disk to double the
capacity or a fourth disk to triple the capacity. This guide illustrates the steps of install-
ing four disks.

Remove the top cover to access disk cage
ReadyNAS X6 case (Version B)

Install the hard disk mounting brackets

Prepare SATA hard disk drives

Important instruction on how to install hard disks in your ReadyNAS
Remove the 3 screws in back.
