Creating a Smart Card Logon Certificate Template
You will need to create a smart card logon certificate template. To create the certificate template, perform
the following steps:
1. Create an MMC with the following snap-ins:
• Active Directory Users and Computers
• Certification Authority
• Certificate Templates

Click Certificate Templates and look for the Smartcard Logon certificate in the right-hand pane.
3. Right click Certificate Templates and click Manage.

Right-click the Smartcard Logon template and select Duplicate Template.
