Creating The Firmware Update Tape

There are two parts to this section. They are:
1. Creating a firmware update tape using files from HPESC.
2. Creating a firmware update tape using the Support Media.
Creating a Firmware Update Tape Using Files From HPESC.
1. After retrieving the patch file from HPESC, you must unshar the patch file as follows:
prompt: sh PF_TPPPdddd
Two additional files will now be available. These files are TPPPdddd.text and TPPPdddd.frm. The
.text file provides specific instructions for that release of firmware. The TPPPdddd.frm file is the
actual update image file.
2. Verify the checksum of the TPPPddd.frm file using the "sum" command, as follows:
prompt: sum TPPPdddd.frm
Results of the command should be equal to the sum field that is documented in the header of the
.text file.
3. Use the "dd" command to copy the file "TPPPdddd.frm" to tape, as follows:
dd if=TPPPdddd.frm of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k
NOTE
Blocksize (bs) must be = 2k
