    INTRODUCTION Congratulations on the purchase of your new eTrike. This manual is designed to give you the information that you need for the safe operation and maintenance of your eTrike. Please read it thoroughly before riding your eTrike. Your eTrike’s serial or VIN number is engraved underneath the front basket on the frame. Please record it below in the event that your eTrike is lost or stolen.

    Laws in your jurisdiction may not require wearing a helmet. For your safety, eTrikeCo recommends wearing a helmet and protective eye wear when operating your eTrike.
  • Page 5 ROU TINE INSPECTION BEFORE RIDING To ensure opti mal and safe performance of your eTrike, it is important to perform the following checks before every ride. Failure to do so could result in unsafe con- diti ons, poor performance, and/or potenti al damage to your eTrike. 1.
  • Page 6 OPERATING YOUR ETRIKE Exercise due cauti on when operati ng your eTrike in inclement weather and where conditi ons on the road, sidewalk or other driving areas may be hazardous. Although your eTrike is weather-resistant, prolonged exposure to moisture can potenti ally cause minor, temporary shut down in the vehicle’s circuitry.
  • Page 7 OPERATING YOUR ETRIKE Release of the thrott le does NOT engage the braking system. In order to fully stop the eTrike from moving, you must engage the brakes. PEDAL ASSIST III. The pedal assist is a hybrid opti on between the thrott le and regular pedaling. The eTrike motor will engage while pedaling and provide fi ve (5) levels of pedal assist.

    OPERATING YOUR ETRIKE SLOWING DOWN/BRAKING In the United States, bicyclists are required to use a hand signal to alert surrounding traffi c of their intenti on to slow down or stop. Braking: Release the thrott le and squeeze both the front and rear hand brakes with equal pressure unti l the eTrike comes to a full stop.

    OPERATING YOUR ETRIKE PARKING/PARKING BRAKE When your eTrike is not in use, engage the parking brake to insure no movement. Parking Brake Lever To engage the parking brake: Squeeze the left and/or right hand brake fully and hold in place. Fasten the brake lever so it forces the hand brake to stay in braking position.

    If you encounter any diffi culty charging your eTrike or experience unusual oc- currences in the charging process, immediately shut off the power and contact eTrikeco or authorized service vendor for service. Avoid getti ng any liquid around the batt ery as this can potenti ally cause leakage, overheati ng smoke and possible explosion.

    CHARGING YOUR ETRIKE/BATTERY INFORMATION CHARGER LIGHT INDICATORS When the charger power cable is plugged in, the charger box light will be activated. A red light on the charger box indicates that the battery is not fully charged, but that there is a proper connection and the battery is receiving an electrical charge.

    CHARGING YOUR ETRIKE/BATTERY INFORMATION BATTERY INFORMATION The lithium ion battery that comes with your eTrike can last over 1000 charges or 2 to 3 years with average use and proper care. Do not use the battery for any other purpose than to power your eTrike.

    PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE All vehicles experience some level of wear over the course of operation. In addition to performing the Routine Inspection listed in this manual, it is recommended that you perform preventative maintenance to further ensure the optimal performance and service life of your vehicle, and for your safety.

    PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TIRES AND WHEELS III. Inspect the tires for cuts, embedded objects or other conditions/damage that can compromise the tires’ performance. Inspect the tires for proper inflation. This inspection should always be performed while the tires are “cold” before driving the vehicle. Recommended tire pressure is 20 PSI.

    Your eTrike comes with a limited 12 month, non-transferable warranty from the date you receive. If any component of the eTrike is defective or prevents safe and effective operation during the warranty period, please contact eTrikeCo immediately for service before operating the vehicle. Service and repair during the warranty period must be completed by eTrikeCo or an authorized party.
