Recording images to memory card takes a long time.
Memory card was
formatted in another
device.
Lens will not retract.
Memory card slot cover or
battery cover was opened
with power on.
Shooting movies
The recording time may not display properly or
shooting may stop unexpectedly.
The following types of
memory cards are used.
- Slow recording memory
cards.
- Memory Cards formatted
on a different camera or
a computer.
- Memory Cards which
have had images
recorded and erased
repeatedly.
"Buffer Warning" (p. 49) displays frequently on
the LCD monitor.
When the camera's
internal memory is low.
(The "Buffer Warning"
displays until it is full, and
shooting will automatically
stop.)
Use a memory card formatted in your
camera (pp. 16, 223).
After closing the memory card slot
cover or battery cover, turn the power
on then back off.
Although the recording time may not
display properly during shooting, the
movie will be recorded correctly on
the memory card. Recording time will
display properly if you format the
memory card in this camera
(excluding slow recording memory
cards) (pp. 16, 223).
Try the following procedures.
- Format the memory card with a low
level format before filming (p. 223).
- Lower the recording pixels (p. 93).
- Use an SD memory card with Class 6
speed rating or higher.
