High power required
Vibration while running.
Drive belts slipping or smoking.

Trouble Shooting

CAUSE
Obstructed discharge

Rotor plugged.
Broken shear pin.
Knives are dull.
Blade angle wrong,
improper angle.
Discharge hood clogged.
Obstructed discharge. Rotor
plugged.
Green material will not
discharge.
Dull knives.
Plugged rotor.
Dull knives.
Drive line vibration.
Loose or worn belts.
Plugged rotor.

SOLUTION
Shut down and clear debris.
Clear rotor.
Replace shear pin.
Sharpen knives.
Re-sharpen knives to
specified angle.
Clear discharge hood.
Clear discharge hood. Clear rotor.
Allow material to dry or
alternately feed in dry
material.
Sharpen knives.
Clear rotor.
Sharpen knives.
Check drive line phasing.
yokes must be aligned.
Check rotor to see if it wobbles.
Check to see if rotor is
assembled correctly.
