5. VIDEO ADJUSTMENT

The next adjustments are related with the picture quality.
Special care must be put.
5.1 Sub-Contrast adjustment
Adjustment preparations
(1) Turn on the PDP TV set, and allow at least 2 minutes
heat-run before beginning the adjustment.
(2) Call the user OSD menu and select Video-> Picture Mode
-> Day(Dynamic) -> Reset.
(3) Receive the following signal either into Input3 or Input4
(component) input.

Adjustment procedures

- 525p Sub-Contrast, Y/Cb/Cr clamp offset adjustment -
(1) Receive the signal described above. 525(480)p.
(2) Enter the Adjustment menu and scroll down two steps to
reach the RGB item.
(3) Push the right cursor key for more than 3 seconds. The
automatic adjustment will start. The OSD will disappear
briefl y and reappear once the adjustment is fi nished.

5.2 Video color temperature adjustment (HIGH)
Adjustment Preparations
(1) Turn on the PDP TV set and allow a 20 minutes heat-run
before starting the adjustment.
(2) Use an HDMI video signal generator with white raster at
Ratio = 100%.
(3) The signal's specifi cation is:
HDMI signal 1080i.
Video level:
Sync:
Set-up level:
(4) Input the white raster signal into the HDMI input termi-
nal.
(5) Confi rm all user adjustments are at factory shipment set-
ting (execute factory settings operation).
(6) Set the user video control "Picture Mode" to Dynamic
mode.
(7) Set the aspect to 4:3 Expanded.
Adjustment Procedure
(1) Set the CRT color analyzer (Minolta CA-100) at the cen-
ter of the panel.
(2) Enter in to the Adjustment Mode and select the WHITE
BAL HIGH option.
(3) Enter the white balance adjustment by pressing right cur-
sor key.
(4) Make sure at least one of the adjustment parameters is
set to FF (hexadecimal value).
(5) After receiving the white raster signal decrease the value
of one or two of the R/G/B adjustment parameters.
R - affects the x coordinate.
G - affects the y coordinate.
B - affects both coordinates inversely.
The specifi cation of Video Color Temperature HIGH is:
x = 0.273 ± 0.01
y = 0.273 ± 0.01
(Color temp: 12000K - 7MPCD)
Remember, at least one of the parameter should remain in
FF value.
Remarks:
(a) The color temperature should be adjusted under the
condition in which the screen is the brightest, thus the initial
value for the adjustment is set to the highest value.
(b) The adjustment is made by reducing brightness only.
