E. Float Switch Check and Cleaning
FS is used to determine that there is sufficient water in the water tank after the 1-min.
fill cycle and after each harvest cycle. FS is also used to determine that the appropriate
volume of water has been converted into ice before switching out of the freeze cycle. No
adjustment is required.
1. Float Switch Check
To check FS, follow the steps below.
1) Turn off the power supply.
2) Remove the front, top, and left side panels,
then remove the insulation panel. Move the
control switch to the "OFF" position.
3) Disconnect the distributor from the
distribution hose. Remove the thumbscrew
securing cube guide B. Remove cube guide
B and cube guide A. See Fig. 4.
4) Remove the overflow cap and overflow
pipe.
5) Remove the drain plug. Allow the water
tank to drain, then replace the drain plug in
its correct position. Be careful not to cross
thread it.
6) Replace the overflow pipe, overflow cap, cube guide A, and cube guide B in their correct
positions. Be careful not to cross thread the overflow pipe.
7) Remove the control box cover.
8) Disconnect FS connector from CB K5 (black) connector.
9) Check for continuity across FS leads. With the water tank empty, FS should be open. If
open, continue to step 10. If closed, follow the steps in "II.E.2. Float Switch Cleaning."
After cleaning FS, check it again. Replace if necessary.
10) Reconnect FS connector to CB K5 (black) connector.
11) Reconnect the distributor to the distribution hose.
12) Move the control switch to the "ICE" position.
13) Replace the insulation panel, then replace the left side, top, and front panels in their
correct positions.
14) Turn on the power supply to fill the water tank with water.
15) After 1-min., the 1-min. fill cycle should end and the initial harvest cycle should begin.
If the initial harvest cycle begins, FS is good and the check is complete. If the initial
harvest cycle does not start, continue to step 16.
16) Turn off the power supply.
17) Remove the front panel, then move the control switch to the "OFF" position.
18) Remove the control box cover.
