Operation

1.
See Typical Measurements for specific measuring instructions.
2.
Test the unit on an object with a known temperature.
• If the unit does not function as expected on an object of known temperature, replace
the battery.
• If the unit still does not function as expected, send the unit to Greenlee for repair.
3.
Point the temperature sensor at the object to be measured. Press the trigger. SCAN and
any relevant data will appear on the display, including the maximum temperature
(TG-150) and any advanced features that the user has selected (TG-250 and TG-350).
4.
Release the trigger. SCAN will disappear and HOLD will appear to indicate that the unit is
holding the last recorded temperature on the display.
To perform other functions, see Advanced Features (TG-250 and TG-350) in the Using the
Features section.
Limitations
• The temperature gun cannot measure through transparent objects, such as glass or plastic.
It will measure the surface temperature of the glass or plastic.
• Steam, dust, smoke, or other particles can prevent accurate measurement by obstructing
the unit's infrared sensor.
Locating a Hot Spot
To find a hot spot, aim the gun outside the area of interest, then scan across with an up and
down motion.
