    ASSEMBLY IMPORTANT: This unit is shipped WITHOUT GASOLINE or OIL. After assembly, service engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the separate engine manual packed with your unit. NOTE: Reference to right, left, rear and front of the lawn mower is in relation to the operating position.

Service the engine with gasoline and oil as instructed in the Depress and squeeze it against the upper handle to operate the unit.
  • Page 11 OPERATION 3. Grasp the starter handle as shown and pull slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to start engine and avoid kickback. Return it slowly to the rope guide. WArNING Rapid retraction of starter cord (kickback) will pull hand and arm toward engine faster than you can let go.

    SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE WArNING Before performing any type of maintenance/service, disengage all controls and stop the engine. Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete stop.     SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE BlADe CAre WArNING When removing the cutting blade for sharpening or replacement, protect your hands with a pair of heavy gloves or use a heavy rag to hold the blade. Periodically inspect the blade adapter for cracks, especially if you strike a foreign object.

    Clean, adjust gap, or replace. Engine flooded. Wait a few minutes to restart. Blocked fuel line. Contact your Sears Parts & Repair Center to have fuel line cleaned. Engine runs erratically Spark plug boot loose. Connect and tighten spark plug boot.
