1.6 USER QUALIFICATION USER QUALIFICATION The LifeCare PCA with ICU Medical MedNet infusion system is intended for use at the direction or under the supervision of licensed physicians or certified health care professionals who are trained in the use of the pump and the administration of parenteral and epidural fluids and drugs and the corresponding warnings and precautions.
Using an unshielded Ethernet cable may result in increased emissions. FCC INFORMATION The LifeCare PCA has been tested and found to comply with the Class B limits for list number 20837-04 Class a/b/g digital devices, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference.

LIFECARE PCA INFUSERS UPGRADED WITH 7.X SOFTWARE Legacy LifeCare PCA infusion systems with list number 20709-04 upgraded to 7.x software are substantially equivalent with list number 20837. When the software is upgraded, only the keypad and front enclosure labeling are upgrading to ensure alignment with the software.
Instead of compliance with IEC 60601-1-2:2007 as specified in 1.8, Electromagnetic Compatibility , the following applies: The LifeCare PCA has been tested and found to comply with electromagnetic com- patibility (EMC) limits as specified in IEC 60601-1-2:2001. FLUID INGRESS PROTECTION RATING Instead of the rating of IPX2 as indicated on the back cover of this manual, the rating of IPX1 (described below) applies.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION Clean and disinfect the LifeCare PCA infuser between each patient use. In addition, the infuser should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected once a month or according to facility protocol. The following sections describe how to clean and disinfect the LifeCare PCA infuser.
CAUTION: Use only recommended cleaning solutions and follow manufacturers’ recommendations. Using cleaning solutions not recommended by ICU Medical may result in product damage. Do not use compounds containing combinations of isopropyl alcohol and dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride. CAUTION: Never use sharp objects such as fingernails, paper clips, or needles, to clean any part of the infuser.
2. When the cleaning wipe becomes soiled, start wiping with the unsoiled part of the cleaning wipe. Replace the wipe as needed. 3. Continue wiping until all visible soil, organic dirt, or spilled fluid is completely removed. Technical Service Manual 5 - 3 LifeCare PCA...

5.6 PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION TEST 40. Once the second loading dose is completed, verify the infuser delivered 20 mL 1 mL. 41. If all Performance Verification Tests have been successful, proceed as follows: 1. Clear device history. 2. Reset the LifeCare PCA infusion system to the original configuration. 3. Verify the correct time and date. 4. Return the LifeCare PCA infusion system to service.
NETWORK CONNECTIVITY CHECKS The purpose of this test is to verify basic connectivity with the communications network and with ICU Medical MedNet when the infuser is operating normally. The test is not intended to be a connectivity performance test. To check network connectivity, perform the procedure below for an Ethernet or Wireless network as appropriate.
Once connectivity to the network has been confirmed using one of the above tests, if the infuser is configured for Auto Programming, this additional test can be performed to verify that the infuser is communicating with ICU Medical Mednet: 1. Power on the infuser in User mode.
