Camera Displays Virtual Horizon Selecting ELECTRONIC LEVEL displays a virtual horizon. The camera is level when the two lines overlap. Note that the virtual horizon may not be displayed if the camera lens is pointed up or down. Histograms Histograms show the distribution of tones in the image. Brightness is shown by the horizontal axis, the number of pixels by the vertical axis.

Touch Screen Mode Touch Zoom Touch controls can be used for digital zoom, regardless of the mode selected for K TOUCH SCREEN MODE in the shooting menu. Select ON for M TOUCH ZOOM in the shooting menu. Use pinch-out and pinch-in gestures ( 22) to zoom in and out using digital zoom.
Touch Screen Mode Playback Touch Controls When ON is selected for K TOUCH SCREEN SETTING > TOUCH SCREEN ON/OFF in the setup menu, touch controls can be used for the following playback operations: • Swipe: Swipe a fi nger across the display to view other images.
Attaching the Shoulder Strap Attach the strap to the two strap eyelets as shown below. Attach the strap as shown. To avoid dropping the camera, be sure the strap is correctly secured.
Lenses and Other Optional Accessories The camera can be used with lenses and accessories for the FUJIFILM X-mount. Before attaching or removing (exchanging) lenses, attach the lens caps and check that the lenses are free of dust and other foreign mat- ter.
Inserting the Battery and a Memory Card Insert the battery and memory card as described below. Open the battery-chamber cover. Slide the battery-chamber latch as shown and open the battery-cham- ber cover. Do not remove the battery when the camera is on. Failure to observe this precaution could damage image fi les or memory cards.

Removing the Battery and Memory Card Before removing the battery or memory card, turn the camera off and open the battery-chamber cover. To remove the battery, press the battery latch to the side, and slide the battery out of the camera as shown.
UHS speed class of 3 or better are recommend- ed for 4K burst, multi-focus, and movie modes. A complete list of approved memory cards is available at http://www.fujifilm.com/ support/digital_cameras/compatibility/. Operation is not guaran- teed with other cards. The camera cannot be used with xD-Pic- ture Cards or MultiMediaCard (MMC) devices.
Charging the Battery The battery is not charged at shipment. Turn the camera off and charge the battery before use. The camera charges the battery internally. An NP-W126S rechargeable battery is supplied with the camera. Charging takes about 210 minutes. Attach the plug adapter to the AC power adapter.

Checking the Battery Level After turning the camera on, check the battery level in the display. Taking Photographs Frame the picture. Lenses with Zoom Rings Use the zoom ring to frame the picture in the display. Rotate the ring left to zoom out, right to zoom in. Focus. Press the shutter button halfway to focus. If the subject is poorly lit, the AF-assist illuminator may light.
Viewing Pictures Pictures can be viewed in the LCD monitor. Recording Movies Record movies with sound. Press t to start recording. A recording indicator (V) and the time remaining are displayed while recording is in progress. Lenses Power Zoom When ON is selected for T ELECTRONIC ZOOM SETTING, the sub-command dial can be used to adjust zoom when the moni- tor is opened horizontally to approximately 180°. The focus ring can be used to adjust zoom when autofocus is enabled. Removing Lens Caps Remove lens caps as shown.

Lenses Manual Focus Lenses Slide the focus ring to the front for aut- ofocus. For manual focus, slide the focus ring to the back and rotate it while checking the results in the camera display. The focus distance and depth-of-fi eld indicators can be used to assist manual focus.
Lenses Lens Care Use a blower to remove dust, then gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Any remaining stains can be removed by wiping gently with a piece of Fujifi lm lens-cleaning paper to which a small amount of lens-cleaning fl uid has been applied. Replace the front and rear caps when the lens is not in use.
HDMI Output Camera shooting and playback displays can be output to HDMI devices. Connecting to HDMI Devices Connect the camera to TVs or other HDMI devices using a third-party HDMI cable. Turn the camera off . Connect the cable as shown below, making sure the connec- tors are fully inserted.
