    NOTE: As with all personal display devices, NEC DISPLAY SOLUTIONS recommends using a moving screen saver at regular intervals whenever the screen is idle or turning off the monitor when not in use.
  • Page 6 CORRECT PLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE MONITOR CAN REDUCE EYE, SHOULDER AND NECK FATIGUE. CHECK THE FOLLOWING WHEN YOU POSITION THE MONITOR: • For optimum performance, allow 20 minutes for the display to warm up. • Adjust the monitor height so that the top of the screen is at or slightly below eye level. Your eyes should look slightly downward when viewing the middle of the screen.

    Quick Start To connect the LCD monitor to your system, follow these instructions: NOTE: Make sure to read “Recommended Use” (page 3) before installation. 1. Turn off the power of your computer. 2. For a PC with DisplayPort output: Connect the DisplayPort cable to the connector of the display card in your system (Figure A.1).
  • Page 9 5. To keep the cables neatly organized, place them into the cable management system that is built into the stand. Place the cables in the hooks fi rmly and evenly (Figure C.2 and Figure C.3). NOTE: Cable cover is not removable. 6.
  • Page 10 Raise and Lower Monitor Screen The monitor may be raised or lowered in either portrait or landscape mode. To raise or lower screen, place a hand on each side of the monitor and lift or lower to the desired height (Figure RL.1). NOTE: Handle with care when raising or lowering the monitor screen.
  • Page 11 Flexible Arm Installation This LCD monitor is designed for use with a fl exible arm. To prepare the monitor for alternate mounting purposes: • Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the display mount. • To meet the safety requirements, the mounting stand must be able to support the weight of the monitor and be UL-certifi ed.     Controls OSD (On-Screen Display) control keys on the front of the monitor function are as follows: To access OSD menu, touch any of the control keys. To change signal input, touch the SELECT key.   • Page 14 ECO TOOLS BRIGHTNESS Adjusts the overall image and background screen brightness. If ECO MODE is set to 1 or 2, a bar for CARBON FOOTPRINT will appear. CONTRAST Adjusts the overall image and background screen brightness by input signal level. ECO MODE Decreases the amount of power consumption by reducing the brightness level.
  • Page 15 HUMAN SENSING The sensor on the front side of the monitor detects the movement of a person by using the HUMAN SENSING function. The HUMAN SENSING has three settings: OFF: No human sensing. 1 (LIGHT): After it is detected that there is no person after a period of time, the monitor shifts to low brightness mode automatically to reduce the power consumption.
  • Page 16 EXPANSION Sets the Zoom method. FULL: The image is expanded to full screen regardless of the resolution. ASPECT: The image is expanded without changing the aspect ratio. OFF: The image is not expanded. NOTE: FULL works only when MULTI PICTURE is OFF. RESPONSE IMPROVE Turns the Response Improve function on or off.
  • Page 17 SOUND INPUT This function selects AUDIO INPUT, HDMI or DISPLAYPORT. NOTE: According to the screen type, you can change which audio input signal is routed through the built-in speakers. 1 screen (MULTI PICTURE is OFF): Outputs the audio signal from HDMI, DisplayPort or the audio from the input audio jack (AUDIO INPUT).
  • Page 18 PICTURE PATTERN Selects split screen mode. You can select up to 4 split screen types. NOTE: This function is only available when MULTI PICTURE is “ON”. Only 2 split screen mode, you can choose AUTO or CENTER display mode. 2 split screen (CENTER) Splits 2 screens divided evenly from the center.
  • Page 19 MENU Tools LANGUAGE Selects the language used by the OSD. OSD TURN OFF The OSD control menu will stay on as long as it is in use. You can select how long the monitor waits after the last touch of a key to shut off the OSD control menu. The preset choices are 10-120 seconds by 5-second increments. OSD LOCK OUT This control completely locks out the access to all OSD control functions except for Brightness, Contrast and Volume.
  • Page 20 ECO Information CARBON SAVINGS: Displays the estimated carbon savings information in kg. CARBON USAGE: Displays the estimated carbon usages information in kg. This is the arithmetic estimation, not actual measurement value. COST SAVINGS: Displays the electricity cost savings in balance. CARBON CONVERT SETTING: Adjusts the carbon footprint factor in the carbon saving calculation.

  • Page 25 No Video • If no video is present on the screen, turn the Power button off and on again. • Make certain the computer is not in a power-saving mode (touch the keyboard or mouse). • Some display cards do not output video signal when monitor is turned OFF/ON or disconnect/connect from the AC power cord under low resolution with DisplayPort.

    Using Multi Picture Function This monitor can display up to 4 split screens for 6 input signals. NOTE: Please see MULTI PICTURE (page 15), PICTURE PATTERN (page 16) and ACTIVE PICTURE (page 16). The following settings are set to be the same for all screens: BRIGHTNESS, OFF MODE SETTING, HUMAN SENSING, VIDEO LEVEL, OVER SCAN, PROGRAMMABLE, VOLUME, SOUND INPUT, VIDEO DETECT, MULTI PICTURE, PICTURE PATTERN, ACTIVE PICTURE, RESPONSE IMPROVE, OFF TIMER, POWER SAVE TIMER, LED BRIGHTNESS, DDC/CI, USB POWER,...

    Using the Zoom Function Allows you to use the entire screen area, signifi cantly expanding the size. Allows the picture displayed in the center to expand. NOTE: When in MULTI PICTURE, the sub picture is expanded or reduced automatically. SETUP 1.

    Using the Auto Brightness function The brightness of the LCD screen can be set to increase or decrease depending on the amount of ambient lighting within the room. If the room is bright, the monitor becomes correspondingly bright. If the room is dim, then the monitor will dim accordingly. The purpose of this function is to make the viewing experience more comfortable to the eye in a variety of lighting conditions.

    ControlSync 1. Connect the master monitor with a sub monitor via a ControlSync cable (ø 2.5) into ControlSync IN/OUT. 2. Follow the steps of DATA COPY. When the setting of the master monitor is adjusted, it will be copied and sent to the connected sub monitor(s) automatically.

    6. Reboot computer. NOTE: NEC has noted that some higher resolution DisplayPort signals can occasionally become unreliable. The typical symptom is that no image is displayed or the image is corrupted. The described OSD menu option offers additional fi rmware processing for DisplayPort signals to optimize the native resolution support and therefore improve signal reliability.
