    2. Install Skype Software Before using USB VoIP Gateway Box and C-Media Middleware, please download and install Skype to your computer. 2-1. Download and Install Skype Step 1: Go to www.skype.com website to get the latest Skype installation file. Step 2: When the Skype web page appears, click on “Download Skype”.
  • Page 5 Step3: Click on the “Run” to install Skype to your PC. Step 4: After downloading, the system will start installing Skype, select a language then click “Install” to continue.

    2.2 Create a Skype account Step 1: After Skype is installed, the “Create a new Skype account” window will appear. In the “New Users -Create a new Skype Account” tab, enter the information to each field. (Note: The Red Asterisk “*” are required fields to be filled.).

    2.3 Add a Contact Step 1: Go to the main Skype account window. From the top menu at the tool bar, select Tools, and then add a Contact…. Step 2: When the “Add a Contact” window appears, enter the name of another Skype user in the text box. Then click on “Search”.
  • Page 8 Step 3: A “Request for Authorization” window appears. Type some message to the contact, (Circled in red below) then click “OK”. Step 4: Your contact will receive a “Hello” screen. After your contact clicks on “OK”, the contact will be added to your list.

    2.4 Assign Speed-Dial Number Step 1: From the main Skype window, select the Contact tab. Step 2: Right-click on a contact name. Then select “Set Speed-Dial”. Step 3: In the next window, enter a speed-dial number, then click “OK”.

    6.2 Answer Machine Description: USB VoIP Gateway can be a PC based answering machine. When somebody makes a PSTN call, USB VoIP gateway will answer this call and play the greeting for voice mail. 6.3 Multi-User Conference Description: External MIC and speaker can be connected to USB VoIP Gateway enabling multi-users to have a conference call with remote contacts.
