Connecting Multiple Devices
You can connect multiple USB and FireWire 400 (1394a) devices to
your DuoConnect for Notebooks adapter by using hubs, as shown.
(A hub works with a computer like a power strip works with an
electrical outlet—it multiplies the number of ports you have so that
you can have more devices plugged in at the same time.)

Note: You can connect USB 2.0 devices to a USB 1.1 hub, but
they will run at USB 1.1 speed. See About USB Technology
