Once every month for areas with high water hardness.
Fill the kettle with white vinegar (8% acetic acid) up to one quarter of

Add water to the MAX indication.

Press the green tea button to heat up the water to 80ºC and then

press the KEEP WARM button.
Empty the kettle after 30 minutes and rinse the inside thoroughly.

Repeat the descaling procedure if there is still some scale in the

kettle.
Note: You can also use an appropriate descaler. In that case, follow the
instructions on the package of the descaler.
Descaling the kettle (hD9386/hD9388)
If the kettle needs to be descaled, the calc light lights up on the display of
the base.

To start the descaling process, press the black tea button and the

personal setting button at the same time (Fig. 20).
The kettle heats up the water to 80ºC.

Note: If you take the kettle off the base before the descaling process is finished,
the appliance switches off automatically. You can also deactivate the descaling
process by pressing any of the preset buttons.
Note: If you do not descale the kettle, the calc light lights up the next 5 times
you use the kettle.
