The external flexible cord of this product cannot be replaced; if the cord is
damaged, the product shall be scrapped.
When the transformer is connected in a wrong way (short circuit) or it
encounters an overload, the "Off-led" will blink to signal the installer. Above a
certain level of overload the transformer will shut down and reset itself. This
procedure will loop until the connection has be done right or the load is reduced
to an acceptable level.
This product has triple protection. The protection of the G4 transformer is based
on 3 mechanisms:
1. Software based protection by switching-off output FET's,
2. Hardware based current limiting with foldback (inside Meanwell supply).
3. Monitoring of PCB temperature.
The software protection is based on measurements of the 21V supply voltage,
the supply input current and PCB temperature.
Output current detection levels for each product are calibrated at 100% of
nominal load (14.3A @ (300VA).
If the external load is increased the following levels are reached:
If the average current exceeds 14.3A (> 300VA) for a few seconds, the
•
"Button-Led" starts blinking slowly.
If the average current exceeds 15A (> 315VA) the software protection will
•
switch-off the output FETs, the "Button-Led" starts blinking fast.
The maximum load per output is 100VA. During switching of an output the
•
inrush current will be limited by the Meanwell supply: this supply will limit
the total current to 17.5A by switching from CV-mode to CC-mode. If this
takes longer then 400mSec. the software protection will switch-off the
output FETs, the "Button-Led" starts blinking fast until the on/off button is
activated (reset after overload).
If the PCB temperature becomes too high the output voltage will be
•
switched off.
If the supply voltage for the control part becomes too low (long power dips) the
output will be disabled. After restoring of the mains supply the product will start
again in the last known mode.
