You can start/stop recording and initialize the time code using the infrared remote control (sold separately).
Press the MENU button.

Press the UP button or DOWN button to select

then press the REC/ENTER button.
(Allows you to operate the camera using the infrared remote control)
(Prevents operation of the camera using the infrared remote control)
Note
The remote commander & IR receiver kit RMT-VP1K and RMT-845 (sold separately) are required to use this function.
Purchase a RMT-845 at a Sony service center.
You can operate only the following settings using the RMT-845 (sold separately). Other settings are inoperable.
Initialize the time code.
When initializing the setting, the REC lamp blinks in blue for about 5 seconds.
Start/stop recording.
