10. Information on DCF Reception

The DCF signal is sent by a station in Main-
flingen (near Frankfurt am Main). Its range is
up to 1500 km, and under perfect reception
conditions even up to 2000 km.
The DCF signal contains, among others, the
precise time and the date.
This means you do not have to switch manu-
ally between daylight savings time and nor-
mal time; the time is adjusted automatically.
The first DCF reception attempt is always
performed when the batteries are inserted
into the weather station; see chapter 9.
A DCF reception attempt is performed sev-
eral times per day. A single proper reception
of the DCF signal per day will keep the devia-
tion of the clock in the weather station below
a second.

11. Starting New DCF Reception Attempt

If you do not see any current time in the display of the weather station after 10 minutes, remove
the batteries from the weather station. Wait for 10 seconds and re-insert them.
The search for the DCF signal and assessment of the signal may take up to 10 min-
utes; do not move the weather station during this time and do not push any button.
