1 Connect CarUpdate to the computer
Connect the module to a Windows computer using the USB cable
provided. The FTDI chipset will be automatically installed and
displayed as a COM port in Device Manager. (in case of driver
conflicts, see chapter „5. Driver installation")
2 Settings in the AVRootloader tool
After opening the
update tool, the
settings must be
adjusted as
shown in the
figure.
Settings: COM-Port / Baudrate 9600 / Sign Bootloader
3 Connect the CarUpdater to the PROG interface on the vehicle
Switch on the vehicle after plugging
in the CarUpdater.
The vehicle's right indicator
lights up continuously and
cycles off/on briefly every
3 seconds.
(If the PowerOFF board is used,
the IR diode must be illuminated with light.)
4 Establish connection
Now press the „Connect to device" button in the AVRootloader
tool. After waiting 2-5 seconds, the label on the button changes
to „connected". You can now update or read the EEPROM
according to the decoder instructions.
