4.3.2. Placement and removal of a fuse

Before the Lithium battery can be used, the internal fuse needs to be installed into it. The
32V/500A fuse is supplied with the Lithium battery. Other fuses may only be used in the
product when they are approved by Whisper Power for this application.
Use the following steps to (re)place the fuse in the Lithium battery (Figure 5):
1. Disconnect the negative wire from the - pole of the Lithium battery (see paragraph
4.5.5. for the details).
2. Disconnect the positive wire from the + pole of the Lithium battery.
3. Unscrew the fuse cover using the fuse TORX key.
4. Unscrew the fuse contacts using a 13mm wrench.
W arning! Short circuit danger. Avoid making a short circuit with the wrench.
5. Place the (new) fuse between the contacts, place washers and spring washers and
tighten the fuse contact points to 13Nm.
6. Fasten the fuse cover.
7. Proceed to the next paragraph to read the instructions on installing the Lithium bat-
tery in an electrical circuit.
