Possible Cause
Reverse polarity on outlet or unit (all burners)
Ground wire disconnected or loose at outlet or
inside unit (all burners)
Dirty igniter
Cracked or damaged igniter
Spark module(s) wired incorrectly or defective
(single burner)
Igniter not positioned properly (single burner)
Defective microswitch at burner valve (single
burner)
Cut or splice in igniter wire (single burner)
Dirty igniter
Cracked or damaged igniter
Cut or splice in igniter wire
Bad wire connection at spark module
Defective spark module
Igniter not positioned properly (single burner)
Partially-plugged ports in burner assembly
Improper gas orifice
Gas pressure
Improper gas type
Defective microswitch at burner valve
Defective/dirty igniter
Defective or loose wiring
Defective spark module(s)
No power (all burners)
Igniter wire disconnected or damaged.
Loose or damaged wire to spark module
Defective 1-point spark module
Burner assembly damaged or dirty with food
debris
Burner assembly cracked or warped
Supply gas impurities
Port holes in burner assembly not to specification
or damaged/dirty
Incorrect gas orifices
Gas pressure
Secondary gas regulator within 10 feet of unit

Test/Action
Test the polarity of the outlet. May have to call an
electrician. Check internal connections.
Check ground from unit to the ground terminal on
another outlet. May have to call an electrician.
Check internal connections.
Clean with wire brush or emery cloth.
Replace igniter.
Re-wire or replace spark module(s)
Reposition igniter. Igniter should be seated down
to burner pan.
Replace microswitch.
Replace igniter wire.
Clean with wire brush or emery cloth.
Replace igniter.
Replace igniter wire.
Repair wire connection.
Replace spark module
Reposition igniter. Igniter should be seated down
to burner pan.
Clear/clean as necessary.
Check orifice stamp number.
Check gas pressure with a manometer.
Check for gas type. Advise owner if improper. May
have to convert the unit to LP/natural gas.
Replace microswitch.
Replace/clean igniter.
Replace/repair wiring.
Replace spark module(s).
Check outlet and circuit breaker.
Replace igniter wire.
Reconnect wire, or repair wire harness.
Replace 1-point spark module.
Replace/clean burner assembly.
Replace burner assembly.
Especially common with LP gas
Replace/clean burner assembly.
Check stamp number on orifices.
Check gas pressure using a manometer.
Secondary regulator and unit regulator should be
at least 10 feet apart.
Check gas pressure with manometer.
Issue with neutral side of light circuit.
