Getting started

Entering your PIN

Most SIM cards come with a PIN (personal identification number) set by your mobile
operator. If you're asked for a PIN, enter it and then tap OK.
To find out how to enable, disable, or change the PIN, see "Protecting your SIM card
with a PIN" in the Security chapter.
If you enter the PIN wrong three times, your SIM card is blocked. No problem. Just contact
your mobile operator and ask for the PUK (PIN Unblocking Key).

Setting up your phone for the first time

When you switch on your phone for the first time, you'll be asked to set some options
such as your time zone, data connection preferences, and/or your Window Live ID.
Just follow the onscreen instructions and you'll be up and running with your phone in
no time.

Start screen

The Start screen contains tiles that are associated with apps on your phone. Scroll
up or down to see the other tiles that are on the Start screen. Pin your frequently-
accessed apps, contact cards, favorite picture albums, and more on the Start screen.
By pinning those things on the Start screen, they're always just a tap away. See
"Pinning items to the Start screen" later in this chapter to learn how to add your stuff
to the Start screen.
Rearranging the tiles on the Start screen
1.
Press and hold the tile you want to move. The other tiles will look like that
they've been moved back.
2.
Drag the tile to the position where you want to place it. Pause at the top or
bottom edge of the screen to drag the tile to the extended Start screen.
3.
When the tile is where you want it, tap the tile to dock it.
