F. Before Lighting Appliance
Before operating this fireplace for the first time, it is rec-
ommended that a qualified service technician:
• Verify all shipping materials have been removed from
inside and/or underneath the firebox.
• Review proper placement of logs, ember material and/
or other decorative materials.
• Check the wiring.
• Check the air shutter adjustment.
• Ensure that there are no gas leaks.
• Ensure that the glass is sealed and in the proper position
and that the integral barrier is in place.
WARNING! Risk of Fire or Asphyxiation! DO NOT op-
erate fireplace with fixed glass assembly removed.

G. Outside Air Kit (Optional)
The outside air kit supplies some fresh combustion air
for your fireplace. It may help reduce the effects of nega-
tive air pressure.
Refer to Figure 3.2 for location of control.

Lift up on lever and pull forward to open outside air.
Close the inlet to prevent cold drafts when the fireplace
is not being used.
CAUTION! Risk of Burns! The outside air control handle
is HOT when fireplace is in operation. Adjust BEFORE
lighting fire.
