Using the scale Carefully unpack the scale and remove all packaging materials. Place the scale on a level, stable surface. Releasing the dial mechanism lock Bring the black locking handle on the scales dial stand to a vertical position to unlock. Releasing the damper lock Loosen the screw on the support lid and then remove the lid.

Adjusting the damper The damper should be adjusted while it is on the grooved wheel on top of the piston rod. If you notice that the pointer moves faster, turn the wheel clockwise. If you notice that the pointer moves slower, turn the wheel counter-clockwise. Levelling the scale Align the scale using the support feet.
