The best length straight stitch to use
for medium weight fabrics is 10 to 12
stitches per inch .
To control stitch length, just turn your
control dial as shown.
When you have two seams crossing
each other with considerable thick-
ness, sew slowly and carefully so seam
will be strong as possible . It may be
necessary to lengthen your stitch
slightly and reduce the pressure on
the presser foot if you are sewing very
thick fabrics.
Be sure both threads are drawn back
under the presser foot . Lower needle
into fabric about 1 /2 inch from begin-
ning of seam . Depress lever and stitch
in reverse until needle reaches begin-
ning of seam .
Release lever and complete seam .
When you reach the end, depress lever
and sew back over 1/2 inch of com-
pleted seam .
