    KEYLESS (PUSHBUTTON) START The Remote Keyless Entry transmitter must be in the vehicle to turn on the ignition. STARTING THE ENGINE With the transmission in Park or Neutral, press the brake pedal and then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The button indicator will be green.

  • Page 13 DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAK® – The full-time Traction Control system limits wheelspin and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system assists with directional control of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions. Both systems turn on automatically every time the vehicle is started. Traction Control should be turned off if the vehicle is stuck, and rocking the vehicle is required.

    HYBRID OVERVIEW (IF EQUIPPED) The Malibu Hybrid has an electric drive unit integrated with the highly efficient 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. This blending of electric and gasoline propulsion maximizes fuel economy. The system continuously adjusts the operation of the engine, high-powered electric drive unit and trunk-mounted lithium-ion battery to provide outstanding performance while using significantly less fuel than a conventionally powered vehicle.

    HYBRID FEATURES HYBRID DISPLAYS Power Gauge – When accelerating or driving, the gauge shows the amount of power provided by the propulsion system to propel the vehicle. When coasting or braking, it shows the amount of power provided by the regenerative braking system or the conven- tional brakes to slow the vehicle.
