The far-end maintenance process is as follows:
The user enters commands through the LMT.
The BAM processes commands from the LMT.
The BAM sends these commands to the BSC or BBU3900 (the commands sent to
the RRU3606s are forwarded by the BBU3900) and waits for responses.
The BAM records the operation results (such as success, failure, timeout, or
abnormality) and sends the results to the LMT in a specified format.
In this way, users can manage the DBSs under the control of the BAM and carry out
network planning in a centralized way.
II. Upper-Level BTS Maintenance
To realize a distributed application, the RRU3606 cascades with BBU3900s. Users can
connect an LMT to an upper-level BBU3900 and perform the maintenance to the
RRU3606.
III. Near-End Maintenance
The near-end maintenance of the RRU3606 includes the inspection, problem locating,
and hardware troubleshooting.

6.1.2 Structure of M2000 System

The M2000 system provides centralized maintenance functions. In this system, the
M2000 server is the core. Various network elements (such as BSC, MSC, and HLR)
connect to the M2000 system through local area networks (LANs) or wide area
networks (WANs).
The BTS/DBS connects to the BSC, and the BSC connects to the M2000 system
through the BAM.
