Safety
2.1

Safety instructions

– Only use the product if it is in perfect technical condition.
– Only use the product in its original condition without unauthorised modifica-
tions.
– Do not carry out repairs on the product. Replace defective product immediately.
– Observe the identifications on the product.
– Never remove or insert the plug connector while live.
– Operate the product only in an installed condition when all required protective
measures have been taken è EN 60204-1.
– Before working on the product, switch off the power supply and secure it
against being switched on again.
– Store the product in a cool, dry environment protected from UV and corrosion.
Keep storage times short.
2.2

Intended use

The intended use of the EMCS-ST integrated drive is to power the connected
actuator technology. The integrated electronics enable control of position, speed
or force/torque.
2.2.1

Application areas

The device is intended for use in an industrial environment. Outside industrial
environments, e.g. in commercial and residential/mixed-use areas, it may be
necessary to take measures to suppress radio interference.
2.3

Training of qualified personnel

Work on the product may only be carried out by qualified personnel who can
evaluate the work and detect dangers.
The qualified personnel have knowledge and experience in dealing with electric
drive systems.

CE approval (conformity)
In conjunction with the CE mark on the product, the EC directives and standards
listed below in the Declaration of Conformity è www.festo.com/sp apply.
