Trouble
Drill bit burns
Drill bit leads off,
hole not round

Probable Cause

under workpiece

2. Improper belt tension

2. Worn spindle bearings

1. Spring has improper
tension
1. Dirt, grease or oil on
the tapered inside sur-
face of chuck or on the
spindles tapered sur-
face.

no. 821742) loose.

2. Retract drill bit frequency to clear
chips
