    RB-RTE Introduction RB-RTExxx is a family of Ethernet TCN routers for rolling stock. Within the railway installation, the router provides connection between ETB and ECN Ethernet networks. Hereinafter in the text it will be referred to as router. Router contains the processor module with Intel Atom processor. Router is supplied without application.

    RB-RTE Computer start up and shut down Router is turned on after connection of power supply to Vcc and GND terminals and activation by SB signal. 6.1.1 SB input is used Power ON In terms of data consistence, the unit's start-up is not critical and can be realized either by coincident connecting of power supply voltage to Vcc and SB terminals, or by connecting the voltage first to Vcc terminal and then to SB, or vice versa.

    RB-RTE Digital inputs / outputs Router can be equipped with two input / output pins, located on power supply connector. Both are galvanically separated from the router electronics. Pins can be used as an inputs or outputs with backward reading, bun never as input and output simultaneously.

    RB-RTE Ethernet Router is equipped with four independent Ethernet interfaces, each with its own MAC address. Interfaces on X2 and X3 connectors are used as connection to the ETB interfaces (Ethernet Train Backbone) which connects the vehicles through the coupling. When the router is switched off or the router application is not functional the X2 and X3 connectors are connected together effectively bypassing the non- operational router.

    RB-RTE 8.1.3 Ethernet line state indication Indication of Ethernet line state is provided by two LEDs, located above M12 connector.     RB-RTE Service peripherals Router contains following service peripherals: ▪ USB ▪ HDMI ▪ RS232 Service peripherals are used for device diagnostics and service interventions. Router is equipped with HDMI and USB service interfaces on front panel, and RS232 interfaces on the side. The interfaces are meant to be used by operator or by maintenance company for router setup and configuration.

    RB-RTE 12 Storing To prevent damage of the device, follow these rules. Product Product in original packaging must be stored under the conditions specified in in a package chapter Technical parameters. Product must not come into contact with water, oil or any other liquids that can damage the packaging. Box with the device can be stored in any position.

    RB-RTE 13 Mounting, installation rules 13.1 Mounting instructions Router can be mounted in any position. To ensure proper cooling and access to router we recommend to keep a free space of minimum 70 mm sidewise and 100 mm from the surface of the heat sink. Alternatively, cooling can be arranged by additional means (fans, another measures).

    RB-RTE 16 Waste disposal Electronics The disposal of electronic equipment is subject to the regulations on handling disposal electrical waste. The device must not be disposed together with common public waste. It must be delivered to places specified for that purpose and recycled. Battery The equipment contains a lithium battery.
