Warnings and notes in this manual 1. Warnings and notes in this manual NOTE: Notes provide important information for the correct usage of the equipment. If the notes are not observed, a malfunction of the equipment is possible. WARNING! Warnings provide very important information for the correct usage of the equipment. Not observing the warnings may lead to danger for the equipment and to danger for health and life of the user.
ECO type pulse amplifiers are available with different taps and output configurations. ECO is the generation of amplifiers from KEM that replaces all previous versions and variants. The possible configurations include one or two channels as well as digital and analog outputs. An integrated medium temperature measurement is included as standard.
Description ECO-COM.B.USB: Interface adapter: KEM interface to USB. When communicating via ECO-COM.USB.B, the ECO is supplied with voltage via the USB interface. The output functionalities are not available during configuration. KEM EcoControl: P Parameterization software for WINDOWS®. The minimum installation requirements: Windows 10.
4.1.1. Plug tap Place the ECO in such a way that the tapping holes in the sensor and the insertion tips match. Screw the ECO onto the sensor hand-tight using the hexagon socket screws (wrench size 3 mm) already inserted in the housing.Schraubabgriff M14x1.5...
The ECO … -Ex is intrinsically save when operated with zener barriers. Follow the installation instructions from the chapter 4.1. Connect the ECO to isolation amplifiers via a shielded cable.. WARNING! When used in hazardous areas the ECO must not be connected to any circuitry except suitable zener barriers. Version: ECO_M_ENG_220303_E001...
Operation 5. Operation 5.1. Normal Operation If the ECO is ordered together with a mechanical sensor, the ECO is already set to this and no further settings are required for operation. 5.2. Possible output configurations ECO offers a large number of possible output configurations, which are defined as follows. A distinction is only made on the basis of the hardware configurations.
The analog outputs also have the option of signaling an error. 5.2.2.1. 4-20 mA Passive + Frequency/Pulse (NPN) – ECO XX-AN-XX-X In addition to the ECO XX-PN-XX-X configuration, a passive 4-20 mA current loop is available here, which also supplies the device with power (two-wire operation).
Operation 5.2.2.2. 0-20 mA Active + Frequency/Pulse (PP, NPN, PNP) – ECO XX-FV-XX-X This configuration offers an active current loop in addition to the frequency/pulse functionality. Fig 4: EcoControl configuration interface Version: ECO_M_ENG_220303_E001...
Operation 5.2.3. 0-10V Active + Frequency/Pulse (PP, NPN, PNP) – ECO XX-FW-XX-X Here, in addition to the frequency/pulse functionality, an active voltage output (0-10 V) is available. Fig 5: EcoControl configuration interface Version: ECO_M_ENG_220303_E001...
During parameterization the outputs cannot be used, the ECO is supplied via the communication adapter. 5.3.1. Installation of KEM EcoControl You can find the EcoControl software in the download area of the KEM website. There is an installer that installs all the necessary components on your PC/laptop.
After pressing the Connect button you should see the following picture Fig 7: directly after connection establishment Model code is displayed, if the ECO was purchased together with a sensor, rudimentary sensor information is also available (here only ECO without sensor - marked by "??").
For the best performance we recommend a calibration of current output in the interval of 5 years. The calibration can be carried out by ECO-COM.B.USB and the software KEM EcoControl directly from the customer or in our production.
