3. Check that the battery is seated securely.
5.3 Removing the battery
1. Press the battery release button.
2. Remove the battery from the product.
5.4 Switching starting lock on/off
The cutting tool has a starting lock that can be optionally activated or deactivated. If the starting lock is
activated, the control switch has to be pressed twice to start the cutting operation. This prevents inadvertent
starting.
The factory default is starting lock deactivated.
1. Remove the battery. → page 9
2. Press and hold down the control switch.
3. Insert the battery into the cutting tool.
4. Release the control switch.
▶ The green LED flashes twice; acoustic signal sounds twice: starting lock activated
▶ The green LED flashes twice; acoustic signal sounds once: starting lock deactivated
5.5 Changing the cutting edges
WARNING
Risk of injury! Unintentional starting.
▶ Remove the battery before inserting, changing or removing the cutting edges.
1. Turn the cutting head so that the locking lever and pivoting bar are easily accessible.
2. Open the locking lever.
3. Flip the pivoting bar open.
4. Undo the securing screw of the cutting edge in the pivoting bar.
5. Pull the cutting edge out of the pivoting bar.
6. Insert the new cutting edge into the pivoting bar.
7. Tighten the securing screw of the cutting edge in the pivoting bar.
▶ The cutting edge in the pivoting bar is changed.
8. Press the control switch to partly extend the cutting edge in the cutting head.
9. Undo the securing screw of the cutting edge in the cutting head.
10. Pull the cutting edge out of the cutting head.
11. Insert the new cutting edge into the cutting head.
12. Tighten the securing screw of the cutting edge in the cutting head.
13. Press and hold down the control switch until the cutting edge in the cutting head has retracted.
▶ The cutting edge in the cutting head is changed.
5.6 Fall arrest
WARNING
Risk of injury by falling tool and/or accessory!
▶ Use only the Hilti tool tether recommended for your product.
▶ Prior to each use, always check the attachment point of the tool tether for possible damage.
Comply with the national regulations for working at heights.
As drop arrester for this product, use only a combination of the Hilti retaining strap and the Hilti tool tether
#2261970.
▶ Secure the retaining strap to the installation openings for accessories. Check that it holds securely.
