1. Mark out the parts from the plan (Page 7) on to the PVC plastic section (1)
Drill the 13mm hole diameter for the cab window and the holes for the
axles (4mm diameter ) and the trailer coupling (3mm diameter ) before
any sawing any of the other parts. Prior to drilling the 13mm diameter hole
drill a 4mm pilot hole. The hole in the underneath of part (a) should be
countersunk . Any sawn parts should be cut out with a fretsaw and the saw
cuts cleaned up with a file ..Shape the axle carrier as shown in the plans and
round the corners off . You can leave this rounding off if you wish as is does
not affect the outcome of the project.
Please Note
When sawing it is important to ensure that the straight cuts are always as ac-
curate as possible. Use soft jaws when holding your the work in a vice . Mark
out any holes to be drilled with a scriber or pointed tool to make sure that
there is an indentation and the drill bit does not slip .

2. Mark out the positions of the two axle hol-
ders (d) and (e) on part (a) Finally glue the
two axles holders (d & e) on the underneath
of the cab (a ) with a plastic glue and leave it
to set

Mark out the grey profile strip (2) according to the plan
(Page 7) . Drill the two 3mm holes, then the two 6mm
diameter. holes all the way through. Remove any extra
material with a fretsaw or file so that a rectangular slot
shaped hole is made (12 x 6mm ) Finally mark out and
saw the parts (g-i) and file the saw cuts smooth
4. Take the two yellow Light Emitting Diodes ( LEDs ) and
insert them in the holes part (g) . Here you must ensure
that the flat part of the LED ( Cathode ) faces downward
. Glue them in position
Note :The Cathode ( short leg ) of the LED faces down-
wards . Part ( g is inserted in the base of part (a) it may
need to be shaped so that it fits correctly. It can then be
finally glued in place and left to dry
