When first setting up the Em50, erase the memory. This ensures a clean data
set before taking measurements.

Installing the Em50

1. Attach the Em50 in an upright position to a firm post or PVC pipe, using
the five zip ties or similar fasteners.
2. If using the Em50R , ensure there is a good line of sight between the logger
and your base station. Radio signal strength can be attenuated by obstruc-
tions.

If using the Em50 Solar data logger, install the logger in a location that
ensures the solar panel receives the maximum amount of sunlight. In the
northern hemisphere this typically means the data logger should face South.
In the southern hemisphere this typically means that the data logger should
face North.

Turning Off the Em50

To turn off the Em50, either set the measurment interval to "0 minutes" or remove
the batteries.
