  • Page 4 MAX. Supported optical media and read/write functionality will vary based on the specific model purchased. • Power LED — The NewerTech miniStack MAX has a single LED at the front, located directly below the aluminum face. The LED will illuminate when the miniStack MAX is powered on.
  • Page 5 MAX will connect using this USB 3.0 port. 4. eSATA port — If you want to use the hard drive in the miniStack MAX over eSATA, con- nect this port to your computer using an eSATA cable (not included). This eSATA port operates at SATA 2.0 (3.0Gb/sec.) speeds.
  • Page 6 Begin your troubleshooting by verifying that the power cable is connected to the Newer- Tech miniStack MAX and to a power source. If the power cable is connected to a power strip, make sure that the power switch on the strip is turned on.
  • Page 7 To ensure that your files are protected and to prevent data loss, we strongly suggest that you keep two copies of your data: one copy on your NewerTech miniStack MAX and a second copy on either your internal drive or another storage medium, such as an optical backup, or on a second external storage unit.
