How to distinguish the trouble
1. View mechanical part if visual damage occurred.
Confirm the movement of mechanical parts assembly
(tray ass'y, loading mechanism ass'y, etc.).
1. Power ON/OFF switch
2. Power supply P.C.B.
3. Operational P.C.B.

2. O.P.U.
3. Circuit

2. Diagnose if Optical Pickup Unit is faulty (refer to
diagnosis of Optical Pickup Unit).
3. If mechanism and OPU are OK, it is P.C.B.
Possible fault
Power switch, connector cable
D1011, T1021, Q1051 etc.
CPU (IC6001), X6001, IC6002 etc.
Possible fault
Tray and loading mechanical block, traverse
Refer to the diagnosis of OPU
LD drive, servo (Traverse, Focus, Tracking)
Disc sensor
Signal processing (FEP, ADSC etc.)
Possible fault
Traverse block (Tilt adjustment)
Refer to the diagnosis of OPU
Servo (Focus, tracking)
Signal processing (FEP, ODC, AVDEC, A-DAC etc.)
