Getting Started (Initial Setup)
To set the clock, first set the clock on the remote control, then transmit the information
to the VCR. Press CLOCK once.
Press 8 or 9 on the remote control for AM or PM, respectively.
Then, press the number buttons to set the current time - two digits for the hour and two
for the minutes.
For example, if it is now 2:15 PM, press 9 for PM, press 0, 2, 1, and 5 for hours and
minutes.
Continue pressing buttons to set the date. For example, if today is July 8, 1994, press
0, 8, 0, 7, 9, and 4 to get 08/07/94.
Press CLOCK and then press TRANS while aiming the remote control at the receiver
on the VCR. The clock will appear in the VCR's display. When you're done, press
CLOCK again to return to regular display on the remote control.
Tips:
The item to be changed will blink on the display as you go.
The clock uses the 12-hour system. You set it for AM or PM.
An illogical time (like 13 for the hour or 20 for the month) will not be accepted.
The day of the week is set automatically.
The VCR power may be on or off for transmitting the clock information to the VCR.
If you press the wrong digit, press the CORRECT repeatedly until the digit to be
corrected flashes and then correct it.
Set the VCR/CATV/TV switch to VCR for setting the clock.
If the clock does not appear in the VCR's display when transmitting, press VCR 1/2
and then press TRANS.
To correct the VCR clock after transmitting the information, press CLOCK so that
TRANS is flashing. Correct the clock in the remote control. Press CLOCK again and
then press TRANS to transmit the corrected information to the VCR.

More About Channel Selections

Your VCR is capable of receiving 68 broadcast TV channels (VHF 2-13, UHF 14-69)
and 125 cable channels (CATV 1-125).
When you press 2 on the First Initial Setup screen, the tuner automatically cycles
through all available channels in your area and places them in memory. This takes 2-3
minutes. You can watch the progress on the VCR's display - when the channel
numbers stop changing, programming is complete.
In some areas channels cannot be switched when CATV1 is selected. Then, select
CATV2 in your Initial Setup screen.
For convenience, the TV channel numbers should match those programmed into the
VCR. If your TV has automatic channel programming, set it on the same mode - ANT,
CATV1, or CATV2 - and let it reprogram to match the VCR.
