I. PREFACE Please read this Owner’s Manual before operating your scooter for the first time. Improper use or unfamiliarity of the scooter may result in harm, injury, or traffic accidents. This Owner’s Manual includes operation instructions, assembly instructions, and best practices to ensure maximum use from your scooter. The symbols used throughout this Owner’s Manual are explained below.

Environment of use: The scooter is a class II carriage (under the UK Road Traffic Act 1988). It may be used on footpaths, pavements, bridleways, in pedestrian areas and can be used on the road if a pavement is not available or to cross a road.
II. SAFETY NOTICES • Read and follow the information in the owner’s manual. • Fully charge the battery after every trip and prior to using the scooter. If you do not frequently use the scooter fully charge the batteries every 3 months to prevent battery failure.

Otherwise, the scooter will go in to sleep mode automatically after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. If this happens, switch the scooter off and on with the key. • If a serious incident occurs, Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare Ltd. and the local competent authority should be contacted immediately.
III. SAFETY GUIDELINES GENERAL GUIDELINES Before operating your scooter fully read and understand this Owner’s Manual. Be sure to follow the Quick Start Guide prior to using your scooter for the first time. Users may encounter difficult manoeuvring situations such as narrow doorways, travelling up and down ramps, cornering, and on uneven terrain.

WARNING – Do not carry passengers on your scooter. Your scooter is designed and tested for one user to operate while seated. WARNING – Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity (125 kg). INCLINE GUIDELINES Use caution when approaching inclines or declines, if necessary lower the speed before travelling on a slope.

To manoeuvre down a fixed obstacle – Approach slowly, and make sure the front of the scooter is perpendicular to the obstacle. Reduce the forward speed just before the front wheels meet the obstacle and remain at the reduced speed until scooter has cleared the obstacle, then you may increase the forward speed.

VII. FOLDING AND UNFOLDING Prior to using your scooter, familiarise yourself with the automatic folding and unfolding feature through either the keyless remote or buttons integrated on the tiller. WARNING - Some components of your scooter are heavy, and you may need assistance to lift or carry.

Fold and Unfold Manually 1. Place the AutoFold Elite Scooter on a level ground and manually lift the red manual fold release lever. 2. After opening to a sufficient height, close the scooter with both hands, and when you hear a "click" the scooter is locked. 3.
VIII. OPERATION After your AutoFold Elite Scooter is assembled, and adjustments have been made you are now ready to operate your scooter. Refer to the tiller diagram in Section VI PARTS for key functions. The power switch (key ignition) applies power to the control system electronics, which in turn supplies power to the motors.

Freewheel Lever The freewheel lever is located at the rear left hand side of the scooter. Push the lever UP to engage DRIVE mode. This allows the scooter to be driven by the motor and should be engaged under normal operation.

Tiller Adjustment Adjust the tiller angle by pressing the Tiller Angle Adjustment Lever whilst pulling or pushing the tiller to the correct angle for the user. Release the lever to lock the tiller in position. Pull on the Tiller Height Adjustment Catch on the tiller to unlock. Then pull up the tiller until it is set at the correct height for the user.
IX. BATTERIES AND CHARGING Charging your scooter To charge your AutoFold Elite Scooter, position the front of the unit next to a standard electrical outlet. Plug the charger into the scooter, and then into the electrical outlet. When the batteries are fully charged remove the charger from the scooter.

BATTERY RANGE Speed and range may vary depending upon user weight, type and incline of terrain, weather, battery charge and condition, operating speed and general driving situation. While some of the maintenance can be done by yourself, you will need assistance from an authorised Drive DeVilbiss provider.

ATTENTION – Infrequently charged batteries, or batteries stored without a full charge are susceptible to permanent damage, causing unreliable performance from your scooter. If your scooter is stored for a prolonged period flat spots may develop in the wheels. This will cause an uneven sensation when driving but should work itself out over time.

XVI. ERROR CODES AND TROUBLESHOOTING The AutoFold Elite Scooter is installed with a PG Drives S-Drive controller which has an inbuilt error and fault diagnostic system. In the event of an error being detected the scooter will sound a number of high-pitched beeps in quick succession to alert the user of an error.
