    PREPARATION FOR USE Unpacking And Set Up • Carefully remove the main unit, speakers, and remote control from the carton, and remove all packing materials from the components. • Remove any descriptive labels or stickers from the front panel of the main unit.

    Speaker Connections Connect the speakers to the Red (+) and Black (–) terminals on right side panel of the unit as shown below. Press the Red (+) or Black (–) terminal tab, insert wire, release tab to hold wire in place.
  • Page 8 Connecting To External Audio Sources This system is equipped with Auxiliary Input (AUX IN) and Line Output (LINE OUT) jacks. The Auxiliary Input Jacks allow you to listen to the sound from an external audio source through the speakers of this system. The Line Output jacks allow you to record from the Tuner or CD Player in this system to an external recording device.

    Protect Your Furniture This model is equipped with non-skid rubber 'feet' to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These 'feet' are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture.

    Power Source This system is designed to operate on 120V AC 60Hz power supply only. Connecting this system to any other power source may cause damage to the system and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Make sure that you connect this system to an AC outlet that is always “live”. Do not connect this system to an AC outlet that is controlled by a wall switch.

    Installing The Remote Control Batteries The remote controller requires 2 “AAA” batteries (not included). Please use a well- known brand of alkaline batteries for longest life and best performance. Remove the remote control battery compartment cover by sliding the cover in the direction of the arrow.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS • Make sure that the speakers are properly connected. • Make sure that the FM Wire Antenna is fully extended. • Make sure that you have installed batteries in the remote control. • Make sure that the AC power cord is connected to an outlet that is always “live”.

    Repeat Playback You can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat function can be activated while a disc is playing or while the disc is stopped. One Track Repeat Press the button until the desired track number appears in the display, then press the REPEAT/M-UP button once.

    Random Playback This feature allows you to play all the tracks on a disc in random order. Load the disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks. Press the RANDOM button. The RANDOM indicator appears in the display.

    Programmed Playback You can program up to 20 tracks on a disc to playback in any desired order. You may also program a specific track to play several times within the same program. Note: The player cannot be programmed while a disc is playing. If a disc is playing press the STOP/BAND button to stop playback before you begin the programming steps below.

    Timer Function This system includes a programmable Timer function that will turn the system ‘ On’ , play for one hour, and then shut the system ‘ Off’ automatically. You can use the timer to wake you up to the Radio or to your favorite CD. The timer can be programmed while the system is in the Standby (Power Off) mode, the Aux mode, Tuner mode, or the CD mode.
  • Page 30 6.) At the selected ‘ On’ time the system will turn ‘ On’ automatically to the last function selected, either Tuner or CD. The TIMER indicator flashes. It will play for one hour and then shut ‘ Off’ automatically. Note: If the system turns on to CD function it will only play until the end of the disc and then stop.
  • Page 31 Sleep Timer This system includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between 90 and 10 minutes of music and then shuts the power ‘ Off’ automatically. To Operate The Sleep Timer: 1.) Turn the system ‘ On’ and operate either the Tuner or CD function as usual. 2.) Adjust the VOLUME controls to the desired level.

  • Page 34 Resetting The System Computer This system is equipped with a special circuit designed to protect the internal computer from permanent damage due to unexpected power surges. If you find that the system does not respond to any commands from the front panel controls or the remote handset, the system probably experienced a sudden power surge that activated the protection circuit.

    To re-attach the legs, slide the U-shaped cut-outs in the legs upwards over the round posts at the back of the unit. Make sure the legs are pushed up all the way. If you decide to wall mount your ES30 audio system please read and carefully follow these instructions: Note: Wall mounting hardware is not included.
  • Page 36 General Precautions and Recommendations • When choosing a location for wall mounting remember that the main unit must be connected to an AC outlet.     CARE AND MAINTENANCE Compact Disc Care • To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges. • Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc’ s recorded surface with a soft cloth.Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust and microscopic debris, so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles.
