Safety instructions

Damaged protective devices and covers
must be replaced, missing protective de-
vices and covers must be correctly fitted.
Worn or damaged signs must be replaced.
Never put the appliance into operation while
people, especially children or pets, are in the
immediate vicinity.
Before working, remove any dangerous ob-
jects from the working area, e.g. branches,
glass or metal pieces, stones.

Only use the appliance in daylight or good ar-
tificial light. Do not work with the appliance in
bad weather conditions, especially when
thunderstorms are approaching.
When working, move cautiously and slowly.
Do not run. Watch out for obstacles.
When working on a slope:
Never work on a smooth and slippery
slope.
Always ensure that you are standing se-
curely.
Always blow the leaves near to the
ground.
Never work down a slope.
Switch off the appliance:
During transport.
When moving it to and from the working
area.
When crossing gravel surfaces.
Do not lay the appliance down on gravel
whilst switched on.
Never aim the blowing tube at persons or ani-
mals.
Never blow refuse in the direction of persons
or pets.
Never use the appliance with damaged pro-
tective devices or protective grilles or without
mounted protective devices, e.g. baffle plates
and/or grass catcher.
Switch on the appliance as described in the op-
erating instructions and take care to keep your
feet well away from the discharge opening.
Never put your hands or feet on or under ro-
tating parts.
Always disconnect the appliance from the
power supply (i.e. remove rechargeable bat-

teries or standard batteries) and ensure that
all moving parts have come to a complete
stop:
before leaving the appliance unattended
before removing blockages or clogging in
the appliance
before checking, cleaning or working on
the appliance
after contact with foreign objects
whenever the appliance starts to vibrate
in an unusual way
After contact with dangerous objects and for-
eign bodies, check the appliance for damage.
Have a damaged appliance repaired before
starting or working with it again.
An immediate check is required if the appli-
ance begins to vibrate unusually:
Check for damage.
Have damaged parts repaired.
Inspect the appliance for loose parts and
tighten them securely.
Always make sure that the ventilation open-
ings on the appliance are free of foreign ob-
jects.
Maintenance and storage
Always wear protective gloves during mainte-
nance, care and cleaning work.
Disconnect the appliance from the power
supply (i.e. activate switch-on lock, if fitted,
remove rechargeable batteries or standard
batteries) before starting any maintenance,
service, cleaning or repair work. Ensure that
all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill and allow the appliance to cool
down.
Handle the appliance with care and keep it
clean.
Regularly check and maintain the appliance.
The appliance may only be repaired at one of
the manufacturer's service centres.
Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are
tight and that the appliance is in a safe work-
ing condition.
For safety reasons, replace any worn or dam-
aged parts. Only use the spare parts and ac-
cessories recommended by the manufacturer.
Allow the appliance to cool down before put-
ting it into storage for a prolonged period.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of chil-
dren when not in use.
