HDTV POWER ON
PROCEDURES
(Requires Remote Control):
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug power cord (or turn off
power strip).
3. Wait approximately 30 seconds.
4. Plug in power cord (or turn on
power strip).
5. Wait for about 20 seconds.
6. Turn on TV.
7. Press front panel [TV/SAT] but-
ton once for Satellite program-
ming.
8. Enter the HDTV channel number,
then press the [Select] or [Menu]
button.
9. Wait up to two minutes, depend-
ing on antenna strength, for chan-
nel programming to download.
10. The HDTV loop tape program
should appear on the screen.
IMPORTANT:
Do not perform the normal Memory
Initialization as in the past. Service
Adjustment Data will be erased.
All Service Adjustment Data will be
lost.
EEPROM REPLACEMENT:
When the EEPROM is replaced, new
data for the Service I2C will be in-
volved. Before operating the set the
EEPROM must be initialized.
To Initialize the EEPROM:
1) If possible, write down the data
values for all Service Adjustments.
2) With Power Off remove the old
EEPROM and install the new
EEPROM.
3) With Power ON, Short circuit pin
1 and 2 of the PP1 Connector for
at least 5 seconds.
4) Investigate all adjustments. If data
was obtainable from the previous
EEPROM, enter same data values
into new EEPROM.
5) If no data was available from pre-
vious EEPROM, each service ad-
justment must be checked and
aligned according to adjustment
section.
