7.3.4

S INTERFACES

On each access, CA1_i switches (where i is a value ranging between 0 and 15) are used to
disconnect the 100 ohm adaptation resistors for the bus.
When set to the ON position (screen printed on the LDS card), the resistors are connected
and the remote power supply selection jumpers that are set to the ON position, connect the
remote power supply (SWi_P and Swi_M). The ON position is mandatory for base stations.
(See the descriptions of the configuration switches and jumpers in section 5.4.)
7.3.5

DECT CLOCK INTERFACES

The LDS card manages the DECT synchronization by sending a 800 ms time signal to the
S0 interface in DECT radio base stations (M bit S-interface multiple frame mechanism).
The LDS card provides two operating modes that can be configured using switch CA1:
master mode
slave mode
Master mode
Using the clock signals from the synchronous bus, the LDS card generates a clock signal
complying with that defined for DECT synchronization.
Using this clock signal, the LDS card sends a DECT time signal (M-bit) to the S interfaces
and physically supplies three clocks as V11 differential pairs:
Two outgoing clock signals (SYNA and SYNB)
Depending on the LDS card mode (master or slave), a third pair will be used as
SYN incoming or outgoing.
See section 5.6.5.
Slave mode
In this mode, the LDS card uses the clock signal received from the SYNC pair and
regenerates it on the S interfaces (in the form of synchronized clocks) and on the two
outgoing clock signals SYNA and SYNB.
In an MC 6500 system (mono-site or multi-site), with single radio coverage, only one LDS
card must be configured as "master" and all the others must be configured as "slave".
