7.3
CONNECTING THE LDS CARD
To install an LDS card, proceed as follows:
♦
insert the LDS card in a CLX slot with access to the synchronous bus
♦
connect the LDS card to the synchronous bus using a plug on the face plate
♦
if a T0 interface is synchronizing on the LDS card, connect the card to a synchro
clock input of the PBX
♦
if S0 terminals or DECT radio base stations are used on the LDS card, connect the
remote power supply
♦
if the synchronization signal is delivered to the DECT radio base stations from the
(M-bit) S-interface, connect the DECT synchronization signal (800 ms clock);
synchronization can be obtained in master or slave mode.
7.3.1
SYNCHRONOUS BUS INTERFACES
Each group of eight S accesses requires a connection to a full junction (32 TS) of the PBX
synchronous bus. Two junctions are therefore required for one 16-S interface LDS card.
7.3.2
ISDN CLOCK INTERFACE
The connection to the USB is set up by cable only if an LDS T0 supplies the PBX
synchronization clock signal. This is an exceptional case.
7.3.3
REMOTE POWER SUPPLY INTERFACE
Remote power must be supplied to the LDS card via a cable. As the LDS card must be
placed in a CLX type slot, no 48 V or 40 V voltage is available. The remote power supply is
selected for all sixteen accesses.
On the LDS card, each set of four accesses has a current limiting device which limits the
current to 400 mA.
♦
Accesses are grouped as follows
•
•
•
•
Jumpers must be set to provide a remote power supply for each access.
The remote power supply for each access is configured by the position of jumpers SWi_P*
and SWi_M*. (See the descriptions of the configuration switches and jumpers in section
5.4.)

_P: + 48 V or + 40 V
