Check syncronization by DECT clock for each slave base station
♦
Return to the master base station and call a fixed set from a mobile.
♦
Switch mobile set MC 5901 to the debug mode (the RPN should read 00).
♦
Move around keeping the call set up with each radio base station in the site. Check
that the mobile set locks in sequence to each of them. Check also the neighboring
radio base stations for hand-over readiness.
If a base station does not display its RPN on the mobile screen:
♦
neither as a radio base station to which this mobile set is locked
♦
nor as a radio base station ready for hand-over
this means that that the polarity of its clock signal is reversed (if this is the case, swap
the two wires of the pair concerned).
Note:
If the call on this mobile set is interrupted while moving around between two base
stations, set up the call again (MANDATORY) from the master base station or
from a previously successful base station prior before continuing to check the
remaining base stations.
5.
If you cannot set up a call on a base station
♦
Connect an ISDN terminal or an ISDN tester as a replacement for the radio base
station (this will check the two ISDN pairs for continuity).
♦
Replace the suspect radio base station with repeater REP96 (set to Test mode).
There are three possible cases:
♦
radio base station is out of service (this case is very unusual)
♦
no clock signal
♦
clock signal is reversed
To check the problem is not caused by the last two cases, go to the suspect radio base
station, switch the mobile sets to OFF then ON again and set up a call. Switch to the debug
mode and check to see if the mobile set can connect to the radio base station. Several
attempts may be necessary and occasionally, the neighboring radio base stations will have
to be set to disabled.
If you cannot set up a call on this radio base station, there is no clock signal.
♦
check the wiring of the clock signal (third pair or inter-LDS wiring)
If you can set up a call on this radio base station but you do not see the base stations that
were previously successful on the screen of the mobile:
♦
the clock signal polarity is reversed.
