MANAGEMENT OF REGISTRATION PASSWORDS
In the MC 6500 PBX, the default password required for registering mobile sets is 12345.
Modify the default password (via the MMC XSYSTM) to adapt it to the internal numbering
plan.
If you change the password you must use 5 digits
Four digits are accepted by mobiles by default.
Depending on the number of digits in internal numbering plan used with the MC 6500 PBX,
adapt the minimum length of the password:
♦
three digit internal numbering plan
One digit of the password is used during registration. For example, if the last three
digits of the numbering plan constitute the number of the mobile, and 741 is the
password, the mobile is registered by entering the last three digits of the numbering
plan, plus 7 in response to the "Enter code" prompt.
♦
four digit internal numbering plan
There is no password. If the last four digits of the numbering plan constitute the
number of the mobile, the mobile is registered by entering the last four digits of the
numbering plan in response to the "Enter code" prompt.
♦
internal numbering plan with greater than four digits
In the case of 5, 6, 7 or 8 digit number plans, without prefixes, it is necessary to switch
from 4 to 8 digits by setting the 390 configuration data to 1 in table 56 (general
parameters).
The basic principle of the password in this case is the same as for a 4-digit password.
At the "Enter code" prompt, enter the directory number, plus the password, giving a
total of 8 digits (directory No. + password).
Example: directory No. + password
