Introduction
Welcome to the TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB user's guide. This optional
Internal 3.5" / 5.25" Front Bay hub increases the number of USB 2.0 ports by adding a front mounted
USB hub to your desktop. This allows you to connect extra external USB devices such as digital
cameras, game controllers, keyboards, etc.
This product conforms to relevant European directives and standards. The Declaration of Conformity
(DoC) can be found at www.trust.com/13486/ce.
Safety
Please read the following directions before first use.
1. Always disconnect the power supply and remove the power supply cable before opening your
computer and installing any device.
2. Ensure that you have the parts necessary to install the front mount USB hub.
3. Never attempt the repair the hub yourself. All repairs should be done by a qualified individual.
Installation
The TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB is ready to be installed into a 5.25" bay.
Please remove the 5.25" mounting frame (four mounting screws) to install the USB hub into a 3.5" bay.
1. Before opening your computer please make sure that your computer is turned off and the power
supply cable is disconnected.
2. Remove the face-plate from the bay you want to install the USB hub into.
3. Secure the hub to the computer chassis with four mounting screws (supplied) on both sides of
the hub. (see figure 1)
4. Remove one metal PCI slot cover plate from the rear of your computer.
5. Pass the USB cable through the slot in the metal slot bracket. (see figure 3)
6. Secure the metal slot bracket to the computer case with one screw.
7. Connect the USB connector into a free USB port on the back of the motherboard and connect
the other end into the USB hub. (see figures 2 and 4)
8. Connect one end of the Y-branch power supply cable to the USB hub and connect the other
end to the main power supply. (see figure 5)
9. Finally select the front panel sticker that matches your computer case colour. Attach it to the
hub's front panel.
10. Connect your USB devices into your new front bay USB hub
11. Reconnect the power supply cable to your computer and start your computer.
Set-Up
The TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB will be automatically detected and installed
by Windows 98/Me/2000/Xp and Mac OS 9/X operating systems.
You are now ready to use your TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB.

Einleitung
Willkommen zum Handbuch für den TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB. Dieser
optionale interne 3.5" / 5.25" Fronteinschub-Hub erhöht die Anzahl der USB 2.0-Schnittstellen durch
Anfügung eines Fronteinschubs-USB Hub an Ihren Desktop-Computer. Hiermit können Sie zusätzliche
externe USB-Geräte wie Digitalkameras, Spiele-Controller, Tastaturen etc. anschließen.
Dieses Produkt entspricht den entsprechenden europäischen Direktiven und Standards. Die

Sicherheit
Bitte lesen Sie vor der ersten Anwendung die folgenden Anweisungen.
1. Trennen Sie immer zuerst das Gerät vom Netz und ziehen das Netzkabel, bevor Sie Ihren
Computer öffnen und Geräte einbauen.
2. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie alle notwendigen Gerätschaften zur Installation des Fronteinschub-
USB Hub zur Hand haben.
3. Versuche Sie nie, den Hub selbst zu reparieren. Alle Reparationen sollten von qualifizierten
Technikern ausgeführt werden.
Installation
Der TRUST 420F 4 PORT USB 2.0 DIRECT ACCESS HUB ist beriet zur Installation in einem 5.25"-
Einschub. Bitte entfernen Sie zur Installation des USB Hub in einem 3.5" Einschub den 5.25"-
Halterahmen (vier Halteschrauben).
1. Vor dem Öffnen des Computers stellen Sie bitte sicher, daß Ihr Computer abgeschaltet und das
Netzkabel abgetrennt ist.
2. Entfernen Sie die Frontplatte von dem Einschub, in welchem Sie den USB Hub installieren
wollen.
3. Sichern Sie den Hub am Computergehäuse mit den vier Halteschrauben (beigelegt) zu beiden
Seiten des Hub. (siehe Abb. 1)
4. Entfernen Sie eine der Metallabdeckplatten von einem PCI-Steckplatz hinten am Computer.
5. Führen Sie das USB-Kabel durch den Steckplatz in der metallenen Steckplatzklammer. (siehe
Abb. 3)
6. Sichern Sie die metallene Steckplatzklammer mit einer Schraube am Computergehäuse.
7. Verbinden Sie den USB-Anschluß mit eine freien USB-Schnittstelle hinten am Motherboard und
schließen das andere Ende am USB-Hub an. (siehe Abb. 2 und 4)
8. Schließen Sie ein Ende des Y-Netzkabels an den USB Hub an und das andere Ende an das
Netzteil (siehe Abb. 5)
9. Wahlen Sie jetzt den Frontkleber welches am besten beim Farbe des Gehäuses passt.
Befestigen Sie jetzt diesen Kleber zum Hub.
10. Schließen Sie Ihre USB-Geräte an Ihren neuen Fronteinschub-USB Hub an

Setup
